Sweet Dreams

When I was living in much smaller place, all that was not essential was in the storage waiting for a day I would have room to bring everything back in to my apartment. Naturally, some of the stuff I had, I did not like anymore. So I either donated it away or put it up to my flea market table for sale.

Luckily I have had a liking to the style I have now for a long time, so most of the stuff still found a home at my current home. Also, it is always a little surprise when I open up a box that was marked for storage for a few years. Little Christmas every time I have gone through a box of something I sometime thought needed to be saved.

One of these things were these pillow cases.

I don't have a bed sheet set that would directly match these pillow covers, but sometimes that is okay. Perhaps I run across the bed sheet set the way I ran across these pillow covers. Before my local hyper market renewed their floor plan entirely, they sold most of their home decoration things with massive reductions. I made lot of good finds and some cute finds. Perhaps this way my overnight guest never mistakes which one is my side of the bed.

As part of my plans to refresh my bedroom, I have been dreaming of the hotel bed sheets from Hemtex. Who doesn't like sleeping in hotel sheets? I would definitely like that kind of every day luxury in my bedroom. I guess we all, at some point, start value our sleep more and more after each night. I am no different. My bed is very important to me and sheets go along with it. Not only look wise but also how it feels.

I turned my back for a second and this one was already making herself comfortable on my newly changed sheets. No matter how many blankets I am using to protect my sheets from her, she always finds the one spot that is not covered. I am glad for warm winters since at least then she won't dig herself under the sheets.

I have a trip to Sweden ahead of me in a little over a week, so hopefully after that I can get my hands on to refreshing my bedroom.

Hibernating

It has felt like this winter has been really long and dark, even if it hasn't been that long. I read that spring is two weeks ahead of schedule. Birds are returning the north.

During these past weeks I've felt rather tired and uninspired to do anything for my home. I think that is alright though. Just come home and light up the candles, relax and unwind. Cook good food and have a glass of wine.

Not to mention there has not been much natural light when I have been home, so when I have had the inspiration to take photos, there hasn't been enough light to do it.

I have had little passing thoughts on what I should do in the kitchen, what I would want for the bedroom. I did a little guide line search for what the floor job would cost, so I'll know when I start doing the budget for that. I thought that I could repaint the bathroom one wall at a time. I spoke to a friend who might have a Loop for me to buy. But none of this has actually got to the point I would start on them to actually become reality.

Days have grown longer and the snow is melting, birds have returned. I only wait for the weather to warm up a bit more, so I could go run outside. It all looks promising and I feel more energetic day after day. Soon it will be warm enough to go work at the garage too. There are couple pieces of furniture that need to be repainted.

Until I feel inspired and get organised in my head, I will admire the pictures in magazines (and try to read the articles in Swedish) and hopefully get some nice ideas for my own home. Soon it is time to take out the schedule and start budgeting. What can I do and when. When would be the best time for each project.

Lot of DIY projects coming up for this spring. Soon it is time to get my hands dirty.
